My Story

I Was Very Late To The Running Party…

I didn’t start running until I was well into my 40's.

Like many of the people I've coached, I was juggling a full-time job, family life, raising two children as well as building a voluntary social enterprise.

Time was limited. Life was busy.

And I often wondered if I’d left it too late to become a runner.
It turns out I hadn’t...

You Don’t Need To Build Your Life Around Running

One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that you don’t need to be naturally gifted to become a runner.

You don’t need endless hours to train.

And you certainly don’t need to organise your entire life around running and become obsessed. I mean, you can if you want to, but I wouldn’t recommend it!

What you need is a realistic, do-able plan that’s based on you, your running ability and everything else going on in your life.

Add consistent support and someone who understands the challenges of fitting running into a busy life, and running starts to feel much more manageable.

That’s why I created Runners Ignited.

My Coaching Philosophy

For me, progress comes from consistency.

I believe in sustainable training that you can maintain, rather than short bursts of intense training that don’t fit into your life.

I want running to be something you enjoy and something that adds to your life, rather than another thing you feel under pressure to get right.

You don’t need perfection.

You need a plan, consistency and the confidence to keep moving forward.

I’ve also created the Runners Ignited Tribe, a Facebook community where runners can connect and be part of the wider Runners Ignited Community.
